03/02/2015

I apologize in advance for this very boring, uninformative post. The week was wet! There was so much rain here last week! It actually rained so much that some dams burst and flooded some of the outlying towns. Some people were killed and many others had to relocate because their homes were washed away.  I am not sure how many died here, but there were definitely problems for many of the people.  A lot of our investigators were either in areas that we couldn't get to because the roads were washed out or they had to be moved to other areas and we couldn't find them. We had extended 3 baptismal commitments, they will mostly change now.
The torrential rains were awful. We were wet almost everyday. I was sick yesterday, and am sort of sick today with cold symptoms. We are still working with Solo. He is just this really cool old guy. He says he believes that the Book of Mormon is true and he commits to come to church, but doesn't show. It is so frustrating! I feel that he really does have a testimony, but he cannot or will not give up using alcohol. We do have other investigators that we are working with that we are ready to commit to baptism. We are very frustrated that we have not had any converts in this area yet...
Nothing of interest really happened this past week, except for today. After soccer,  some of the missionaries in our district went to a mall. I thought we were going to the mall from a few weeks ago. Turns out, we went to another, even cooler mall, similar to the malls back at home. I bought an American cheesburger, which actually was not that bad. I hope everyone enjoyed the pictures of the zoo in Madagascar and, speaking of which, I did not take any this week. Sorry to disappoint, everyone.
Ether 12:41 is the scripture that has inspired me this week: "And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen."

Have a great week, everyone!
